Signs You Might Have Acid Reflux

There are several signs you might have Acid Reflux, also known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). If you have any of these, you should consider visiting the offices of Alaska Digestive and Liver Disease in Anchorage, AK, Eagle River, AK, and the Mat Su Valley, AK, area. A trained gastroenterologist can help. These are some of the symptoms.

  • Regurgitation- This is the sensation of a sour or bitter taste, including the sensation of acid backing up in your mouth.
  • Heartburn - This discomfort or burning sensation can move from your chest and abdomen to your stomach.
  • Dyspepsia-Symptoms include nausea after eating, burping, bloating or stomach fullness, and pain in the upper abdomen.

People are especially likely to notice GERD after eating a heavy meal, lying on their back, or lifting a heavy object. Symptoms are most often noticed at night, and pain is at the worst with Acid Reflux at night.

What Our Physicians Can Do For You

If your condition is severe enough that becomes necessary, we can prescribe medication that will alleviate your symptoms.
