A surgical procedure that is performed on the TMJ, or jaw joint, in which a tiny fiber optic camera is inserted through a small incision directly into the joint. This will provide a clear image of the actual joint space to help diagnose problems in the joint. Some TMJ surgery must still be done using open joint surgery, but most surgical procedures can now be conducted arthroscopically.
