Covid-19 Statement

Dear Friends, Family, and Patient’s,

We hope that you all are doing well during this pandemic. Our office is open and seeing patients. We’ve made a few changes and have kept on working. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. Hence forth, we have implemented several changes to our already stringent infection control protocol:

  • All staff members have been vaccinated for COVID-19.
  • Every morning, upon arrival, staff will have their temperature taken and recorded.
  • Germ guardian air purifying system with HEPA filter and UV-C power which helps kill airborne bacteria, viruses, and mold spores will be on during business hours.
  • A ULV cold fogger with hypochlorous acid which kills airborne viruses will be used after every patient in the operatories and throughout the office at the end of each day.
  • Treatment and common areas will be disinfected after every patient, including door knobs, faucet handles, toilet seats, payment devices, etc.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions.
  • Please call us from your car to let us know you have arrived.
  • You must wear a face covering until you’re in the treatment room.
  • Your temperature will be taken at the front door prior to you entering the office.
  • You’ll be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entering the office and when existing.
  • You may see that our waiting room will no longer offer magazines, children’s toys and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect. The chairs are covered in plastic so they can be disinfected after each use.
  • Any accompanying family member will be asked to wear a face covering at all times while in our office. They will also have their temperature taken and asked to use the hand sanitizer.
  • I have always seen only one patient at a time. I will now schedule longer appointment times to ensure no overlapping of patients, and to allow ample time to thoroughly disinfect the office after each patient.

We look forward to seeing you and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming our patients, neighbors and friends.

Sincerely,
Maria Luisa C. Vales, D.M.D.
