Excellence in Gynecology, Urogynecology
Dr. Ruben Guzman is a board-certified Obstetrics & Gynecology with subspeciality training in Urogynecology. He provides services to women who need comprehensive gynecological care, as well as, care for female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.
Dr. Guzman obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Wagner college in Staten Island, N.Y. where he graduated with honors. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York in Buffalo, N.Y. and completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. He took a position as a Junior Assistant Attending at Saint Lukes/Roosevelt Medical Center where he continued his focus in minimally invasive surgery while working jointly with the Department of Urology for the treatment of women with Pelvic Floor Disorders.
Dr. Guzman is specially trained in the treatment of female incontinence and treatment of Pelvic Organ Prolapse with medical, as well as, surgical options including urethral bulking agents, interstim neuromodulation, vaginal repair of uterine or vaginal prolapse. He is also a surgeon of excellence in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical techniques in treatment of Chronic Pelvic Pain, Endometriosis, Fibroid Uterus, and Ovarian Cyst.
Services include:
- Annual comprehensive gynecological exams and testing
- Medical and surgical treatment of chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, uterine fibroids and abnormal uterine bleeding.
- Incontinence treatment utilizing both medical and surgical options, including using a urethral bulking agent and interstim neuromodulation.
- Treatment and repair of pelvic floor disorders including uterine and vaginal prolapse, cystocele, rectocele and enterocele.
- Minimally invasive, laparoscopic and robotic-assisted surgical options and non-surgical options
