Whitney B. Brothers, M.D.
Dr. Brothers earned her undergraduate degree and Doctor of Medicine at University of Missouri-Kansas. She was awarded Chancellors scholarship and Clinical Honors Clerkship. From 2005-2006, she interned and was a transitional resident at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. She was given a teaching award in 2005. She completed her residency in Ophthalmology at St. Louis University Eye Institute. She was recipient of research and patient care awards. Dr. Brothers joined West County Ophthalmology in 2009 and became certified by American Board of Ophthalmology in 2010. She practices at St. Luke’s and Winghaven locations. She is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, Missouri Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and Missouri State Medical Association. She is now offering Botox and Juvederm cosmetic treatment. Dr. Brothers spends her spare time with her husband and two sons.
Scott G. Sagett, M.D.
Dr. Sagett attended University of Illinois as an undergraduate and earned his Doctor of Medicine at Rush University in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Tulane University School of Medicine. In 2006, he joined West County Ophthalmology and became a partner in 2008. He practices at St. Luke’s and Winghaven locations. Dr. Sagett has been certified by American Board of Ophthalmology since 2006. He is a volunteer clinical instructor at Washington University in Department of Ophthalmology. He is a member of American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, St. Louis Ophthalmological Society and MO State Medical Association. His personal interests include time with his wife and two children, intercollegiate and professional sports, downhill skiing, cycling, reading, computers and travel.
Farheen N. K. Raja, M.D.
Dr. Raja is a St. Louis native. She received her undergraduate and medical degree from Saint Louis University. She completed her residency in 2009 from St. Louis University and received the award of “Most Outstanding Resident.” She joined the practice in April 2016. She is board certified, a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the St. Louis Ophthalmological Society. Her interests include travel, cooking and trying new restaurants. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons.
Stephen G. Slocum, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Slocum is a native St. Louisan who attended St. Louis University as an undergraduate and received his medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine. He served his residency in Ophthalmology at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Slocum was in solo practice for many years, with offices in Richmond Heights and Chesterfield, before merging with West County Ophthalmology in 1999. He holds staff privileges at St. Luke's Hospital and St. Mary's Health Center. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at St. Louis University. Dr. Slocum has spent many years in medical advocacy. He is past-president of the Missouri State Medical Association. He is past-president of the Missouri Ophthalmological Society and the St. Louis Metropolitan Medical Society. He has also held leadership positions within the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Slocum is spends his spare time with his wife, three children and grandchildren.
Steven M. Shields, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Shields attended Washington University in St. Louis, MO as an undergraduate and received his medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine. After completing internship at Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, he served his residency in Ophthalmology at Washington University School of Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Shields is the Chief of Ophthalmology for St. Luke’s Hospital located in Chesterfield, MO and he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Washington University School of Medicine where he teaches ophthalmic surgery to residents. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and Missouri Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He was a recipient of the Ben Goldfeller Volunteer Service award from the American Board of Ophthalmology in 2016.
