Meet the experienced pediatric medical providers of Pediatric Healthcare of LI. Our entire team is dedicated to helping you and your child feel at home from the moment you call or walk into our office. We are proud to be members of the Five Towns and Bellmore communities and to serve the needs of their children.

We strive to treat every patient as we would want our own children to be treated. Our doctors and staff look forward to building a relationship with you and your family. In addition to seeing patients in the office, our physicians have admitting privileges at North Shore University Hospital, Long Island Jewish Cohen Children's Medical Center, and NYU Winthrop Hospital.

Abraham I. Green, MD (Founding Physician, CEO, and Physician Shareholder)

Dr. Green received his MD degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at Jacobi Hospital Medical Center and the Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he served as the chief resident of the Department of Pediatrics. He is board certified in pediatrics and is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Green was awarded the Nassau County Department of Health Certificate of Recognition, the New York State Department of Health Certificate of Excellence, and Oxford Health Plan's "Gold Standard" in patient satisfaction.

Dr. Green co-founded PHLI in 1983 and has been listed in New York Magazine's Best Doctors Guide, Consumer's Research Council of America's Guide to America's Top Pediatricians and Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors since 1997. Dr. Green is the recipient of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Medical Association CME awards in recognition of his commitment to self-directed learning in Pediatrics. Dr. Green is committed to quality improvement and developed and implemented the Patient Centered Medical Home initiative at PHLI.

He has a special interest in asthma, nutrition, fitness and the evaluation and treatment of mental health disorders including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, and anxiety.

Dr. Green is married, has five children and four grandchildren. He enjoys weight lifting, bicycle riding, jogging, reading and gardening.

Moshe Schlusselberg, MD (Founding Physician and Physician Shareholder)

Dr. Schlusselberg completed his pediatric residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Jacobi Medical Center. U.S. News and World Report named him one of the “Top Doctors in the USA” and Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors listed him as one of the best doctors in the New York area. He is a fellow of the American College of Pediatrics and co-founded PHLI in 1983. Dr. Schlusselberg is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Schlusselberg’s areas of special interest are asthma and the evaluation and treatment of mental health disorders including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, and anxiety.

Dr. Schlusselberg is involved with many charitable and educational initiatives on behalf of the children in the greater New York area. He was the Medical Director for the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach and Camp Mesorah and served on the Medical Board of Schneider's Children’s Hospital. Dr. Schlusselberg is married, has four children and six grandchildren.

Judith Green, MD (Physician Shareholder)

Dr. Judith Green received her MD degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She completed the Pediatric residency program at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore. During her training at Montefiore, Dr. Green participated in quality improvement, medical student education, and a research project regarding the vaccine status of hospitalized infants and toddlers.

Dr. Green has a special interest in child development and the evaluation and treatment of mental health disorders including attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, depression, and anxiety. She also performs extensive allergy testing and treatment of environmental allergies.

Hudi grew up in Lawrence and was a patient at PHLI. After leaving Long Island for her medical training, she was very excited to return and join her father at PHLI. In addition to her expertise in the care of infants, children and adolescents, she has taken a leading role in improving the administrative aspects of the practice. She enjoys reading historical fiction, traveling and eating her favorite food, potatoes.

Max Halpern, MD

Dr. Max Halpern received his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he received the Binghamton Campus Pediatric Award. He completed his Pediatric internship and residency at Jacobi Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.

From the onset of his education, knowing that he wanted to work in pediatrics, Dr. Halpern focused his clinical training in Pediatric fields, finding a special interest in Pediatric Gastroenterology. During his residency he modeled his practice on patient-centered care, developing care plans together with his patients and their families, balancing their goals with the most up-to-date academic medical guidelines. Dr. Halpern continues to pursue his special interest in Pediatric Gastroenterology, enjoys working with patients and their families to manage food allergies, reflux, constipation and weight management.

Dr. Halpern and his wife Joanna enjoy biking in the warmer months and skiing in the winter. They have three children.

Brittany Brown, MD

Dr. Brittany Brown received her MD degree from SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse. She completed her pediatric residency at Cohen Children’s Medical Center in New Hyde Park where she treated a wide range of patients with varying cultural backgrounds and disease pathology. During her training, she also had the opportunity to travel to North Dakota to learn about the Native American population as well as Kenya to experience health systems in low resource areas. 

Brittany grew up in the Queens/Long Island area and is proud to serve her community. In addition to traveling for medical trips, Dr. Brown also likes to travel for fun. She hopes to visit the new Seven Wonders of the World in the near future. 


Jenna Zarrella, FNP 

J ZarrellaJenna Zarrella is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who grew up just outside of Long Island in Connecticut and has proudly called Long Island home for the past decade. She earned her nursing degree in Philadelphia and completed her Master’s at Long Island University, where she developed a strong clinical foundation and a passion for patient-centered care. 

With over 10 years of experience spanning pediatrics, women’s health, and emergency medicine, Jenna brings a well-rounded perspective to caring for patients at every stage of life. She is particularly passionate about supporting and prioritizing mental health, including recognizing and managing anxiety and depression in children. Jenna is known for her compassionate, approachable demeanor, strong clinical skills, and gentle bedside manner. She prioritizes building trust and meaningful connections with her patients, ensuring they feel supported, empowered, and comfortable in their healthcare journey.

Outside of her professional life, Jenna enjoys traveling, focusing on wellness, and spending quality time with her family.
