Center for Advanced Reconstructive Urologic Surgery

The Children’s Urology Center for Advanced Reconstructive Urologic Surgery is under the direction of Dr. Jose Cortez who was the first board certified Pediatric Urologist in Central Texas. He performed the first bladder exstrophy closure in Central Texas, as well as many other complex reconstructive procedures. He is an expert in the management of complex congenital anomalies and the advanced anatomic reconstruction needed to manage these conditions. This includes repairs for complex hypospadias, bladder exstrophy, cloacal exstrophy, epispadias and disorders of sex development. The Center also works with children who have undergone failed procedures and are seeking other options for reconstruction.

The Children’s Urology Center for Advanced Reconstructive Urologic Surgery is committed to following our patients throughout childhood, adolescence and as adults as needed. After surgical repair, we closely monitor your child's development, growth, and overall health, with emphasis on the urinary tract. We also provide a multidisciplinary approach by working closely with other pediatric experts to ensure that your child is getting the most comprehensive and complete care.
