The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.

Dr. Phelps graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He completed his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the University of Tennessee at Memphis. Dr. Phelps recently earned a Fellowship award from the Academy of General Dentistry , indicating his commitment to lifelong learning and to participating in continuing education courses to stay current in the latest dental technology and techniques He is a member of the American Dental Association , the Tri-County Dental Society , and is a member of the Hollenback/Medina Tucker Study Club.

Dr. Phelps is married to Sarah, and has twin daughters Allison and Avery. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as backpacking, camping, and all types of biking as well as serving in different ways in the church.

Teresa Hines

Teresa is our office manager, and she handles the administrative side of the office. You will probably hear her friendly voice when you call our office to make an appointment as she has been a central part of Southern Oaks since 2001. Teresa resides in Piedmont with her husband, Don. She has two sons Jon and Ben, and a daughter Katie. In her time away from dentistry, Teresa enjoys singing in the choir at her church, scrapbooking, reading, and playing with her grandchildren Coleman, Hayes, Emerson, and Parker. 

Julie Aldebol

Julie is one of our dental hygienists. She received her degree from Greenville Tech in 2004, and has been with our practice since 2006. Julie has excellent hygiene skills and is a favorite with our patients. She resides in Greenville with her husband Corey and their three children, Kaiden, Avery, and Ben. Julie enjoys exercising, water skiing, and spending time with her family and friends.

Melissa Logan

Melissa is one of dental hygienists who has been with our practice since 2006. She graduated from Greenville Tech in 1992 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Melissa’s professionalism and caring personality provide our patients with the benefit of her many years of experience. She in Taylors with her husband Scott and their cocker spaniel, Kristi. She enjoys motorcycling, traveling, camping and spending time with her family and friends.

Melissa Langston

Melissa is one of our dental hygienists who has been with our practice since 2009. She graduated from Greenville Tech in 2005 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. You will probably hear her around the office as she is known for her singing throughout the day. She resides in Anderson with her husband, Doug, and three boys Will, John-Michael, and Cade. When she is not at work she enjoys spending time with her family and attending their many sporting events.

Amy Litteer

Amy is one of our chairside dental assistants. She received her degree in Dental Assisting from the Air Force, and has been with Southern Oaks since 2015. Amy lives in Easley with her husband Dan, and children Garrett, Noah, and Hannah. In her spare time she enjoys running and spending time with her family.

Kathy Layton

Kathy is one of our chairside dental assistants, and has been with our practice since 2006. When she is not assisting patients, Kathy is busy keeping our office stocked with the wide variety of supplies needed daily. She is a native of Pickens and now resides in Easley with her husband, Tom. She is mom to TJ and Tyler. When she is not busy at work, Kathy enjoys singing in the choir at her church, hiking, and spending time with her family, including her grandchildren Wyatt, Emery, and Collins.
