Meet Our Staff

Alexander B Bowden D.D.S Dr. Bowden grew up in Fenton, MI attending Lake Fenton schools and graduated as Valedictorian of his high school class. He went on to complete his Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Michigan-Flint, through the Honors Program. During his studies, he was actively involved in volunteering in his community, and serving as the representative of the Pre-Dental club. Following his undergraduate program, he began his journey to become a dentist at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Dr. Bowden gained experience in clinical care at the dental school and outreach programs including Detroit Receiving Hospital, elementary schools, and multiple offices in Grand Rapids with the Cherry Health Community Health center. Working in different clinics provided him experience with a variety of patient needs, including children and the medically compromised. Dr. Bowden began working at our office in August of 2022. Also In the fall of 2022, Dr. Bowden married his wife, Sydney, who he met during his undergraduate studies. Sydney is a Spanish teacher at Swartz Creek High School and also teaches dance classes. Outside of work, Dr. Bowden enjoys playing guitar, working out, and going on walks with his dog and wife.

Dena has been a Registered Dental Assistant since 1994. She has spent all but one of her years as an RDA working for Dr. Cantwil. She enjoys getting to know patients and takes the time to ease any concerns they may have. Dena takes her legally delegated duties very seriously and enjoys knowing that her certification as an RDA allows her to take a more active role in patient care.

Aside from work, her world revolves around her husband and two beautiful children. In her free time, she enjoys photography, playing volleyball, weekend trips to the cabin, and watching her children grow and perform in the many activities that they are involved in.

Sheryl graduated from Mott Community College and has been a Registered Dental Hygienist since 1990.  She joined our team this past year after working in the Davison/ Burton area for most of her career.   Sheryl loves being a hygienist and sincerely cares about her patients and their care.  She is conscientious, thorough and kind and enjoys  teaching patients how to improve their oral health and helping them to have a healthy smile. Sheryl is happily married, has a beautiful golden retriever and 2 furry kitties. She loves spending time with family and friends, helping others, exercising, studying the bible, and anything flowers.

Courtney graduated from Mott Community College in 2021 with an associates degree in dental assisting.  She joined the office in the summer of 2021 as an extern student while in her program.  Soon after, she joined the office as a full time employee.  She has a passion for helping others and making them feel comfortable in the office and good about their smile.  Aside from work, Courtney loves time and long walks with her dog, enjoys camping with family, crafting, having bon fires, and listening to music and dancing.

Jessica has been a Dental Assistant since 2013 and plans to continue her education to become a Registered Dental Assistant. She decided to enter into the field of dentistry after having experienced a dental emergency herself when she became fascinated with the process of saving her tooth.  She loves getting to know each of her patients on a personal level and doing her best to insure they are comfortable while receiving treatment.  

Jessica has been married since 2012 and her husband Jake have 4 beautiful children together.  As a family, they enjoy camping, fishing, and playing games. When she does find some spare moments, she enjoys gardening, working on puzzles, and reading.

Chris graduated from Mott Community College in 1985 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She was a Dental Assistant for 7 years before becoming a Dental Hygienist. In 2016, after many years working for a now-retired dentist, Chris joined our team, and her ethical principles have proven to be a perfect match with our office. She takes the time to build genuine and professional relationships with her patients while treating them with gentle and thorough care.

Chris enjoys gardening, antiquing and spending time with her family. She has lived in Flushing since 1967 and enjoys the small town feel. She has been married to Sal since 1986. She has 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

Raylene is a graduate of Davenport University with a Bachelor's in Business Administration. She has over 25 years in the business field. She started with Dr. Cantwil in 2014 and enjoys using her experience to address the needs of our patients.Raylene enjoys camping, cooking, gardening, and spending quality time with her husband and three children.

Angela has been working in the dental field since 1996 after graduating from Orlando Tech with a certification in Dental Assisting. In 2003, Angela moved back to Michigan from Florida to be closer to her family and has been a Flushing resident ever since. She began working with Dr. Cantwil in 2015 and likes finding new ways to engage patients in a welcoming, personalized manner.

Angela is a devoted  mother of a beautiful daughter. In her free time, she enjoys photography, baking, and playing with her dogs. Her favorite place to spend time is up north in Cross Village, MI where she and her greatly missed husband were married.
