We recommend that young women have their first gynecological exam 3 years after their first intercourse or the age of 21.

How often should I have a pap smear?
Women should have a pap smear annually. However, if you have a history of abnormal pap smears, you may need to have pap smears more frequently.

When do I need to have my first Mammogram?
Women who are 40 or older should have a mammogram every 1 to 2 years. Women with an increased risk of breast cancer due to family history should talk to the physician about whether to have a mammogram before the age of 40.
