His leadership in professional groups is yet another way he stays up-to-date on the latest dental care. His is past president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer of the Adams County Dental Society. He is past president (two terms) for the Nebraska Southwest Dental District. He has served as a trustee and delegate to the Nebraska Dental Association and as an alternate Delegate to the American Dental association. What do you like about your job?

I enjoy working with a great staff that makes the job interesting as well as fun. I like learning a little something about each patient and can sometimes learn something new from them, since everyone has different interests.

What is special about this office?

Working is a smaller, up-to-date office allows us to get to know our patients easier. It is also neat to see several generations of the same families that come here.

What do you do to help patients feel relaxed and comfortable?

I visit with them when they first come in and welcome any questions they may have.

Family info:

Originally from Hastings, I now live in Aurora. I have a son & daughter-in-law living in New York. Although I am a dog person, I have a yellow Tabby cat that I have a lot of fun with. I love taking pictures, much to the dismay of some of my family and friends. I enjoy taking a variety of photos, especially in nature.

Education/background:

I was an “older student” when I went to hygiene school, at Central Community College in Hastings. I’ve been a hygienist for a little over 15 years now.

What do I like about my job?

I love the people! It is so interesting setting down and talking to people about life, love, hardships, lessons learned, happiness, sadness, health, family or anything that comes to mind. I have learned so much through the years about how to be a stronger, better, wiser person from my patients! I also enjoy helping others. The hands-on, one-one aspect of my job allows me to witness directly how we have helped patients. That is a great reward! Lastly, the mental stimulation, I am always learning through experience and continuing education.
