Acetaminophen (Tylenol)

For over 7 weeks of age. Other than for vaccine reaction, do not give Acetaminophen to an infant under 3 months of age without consulting MD.
Give one dose every 4 hours as needed.

Please be aware that there has been a change by the manufacturers. Products labeled as Infant Acetaminophen may be available as EITHER 80mg/0.8ml or 160mg/5ml. Please check the label of your medication to ensure that you're using the correct amount for the product that you have.

Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil)

For use in infants and children over 6 months of age.
Give one dose every 6 hours as needed.

Diphenhydramine (Benadryl)

For use in infants over 9 months of age, consult MD prior to use in infants less than 9 months old.
Give one dose every 6 hours as needed. For upper respiratory infections, one dose before bedtime is often enough for symptomatic relief.
