Chesapeake Comprehensive Dentistry, P.A.

Dr. Greg Allen

Dr. Greg Allen, born in Harford County, Maryland, attended Salisbury University before returning to the Baltimore area to continue his education at The Johns Hopkins University. While at Hopkins he pursued a degree in biotechnology and did research in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases before attending the University Of Maryland School Of Dental Surgery. After completing his Doctoral of Dental Surgery at Maryland returned to Johns Hopkins to advance his education. He completed a general practice residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and a fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Allen and his wife Kimberly, with their two daughters Samantha and Sarah, returned to the shore in 2000. After completing his advanced training, Dr. Allen continued to move forward in his education. He attained fellowships in the Academy of General Dentistry, American College of Dentists and the International College of Oral Implantology.

Dr. Allen is also active in his profession by taking various leadership roles. He was president of the Eastern Shore Dental Society, trustee for the Eastern Shore Dental Society for many years, and continues at the Maryland state level as President of the Maryland State Dental Association. Recently, Dr. Allen served as the chair of the Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy. The real passion in Dr. Allen's life continues to be his faith and family. He has coached softball for over 10 years, continues to play a role in developing Medical Missions abroad, serving in mission fields in Central Africa and Central America.


Dr. Joseph Merai

Dr. Joseph Merai, born and raised in New York City, attended Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree.  After completing his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Connecticut, he returned to New York to complete his post-graduate training. The General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine provided advanced training within the entire spectrum of dentistry and emergent medicine. After completing his residency, Dr. Merai and his wife, Andrea, relocated to Salisbury where he joined the practice in July of 2015. They have since decided to make Salisbury their permanent home, and hopefully start their family here.

Dr. Merai is currently pursuing his Fellowship within the Academy of General Dentistry and completion of the core curriculum of the Dawson Academy. He is the current President of the Eastern Shore Dental Society as well as serves as a delegate to the Maryland State Dental Association. In addition, he maintains active membership with the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Maryland State Dental Association, Eastern Shore Dental Society, the Salisbury Study Club, and Cambridge Study Club. Dr. Merai spends his free time with his wife frequenting the cinema and local breweries.


Dr. Ara Stanton

Dr. Ara Stanton grew up in Baltimore and attended the Notre Dame Preparatory School.  After receiving the Provost academic scholarship, she attended Towson State University and The University of British Columbia.  During that time she was a biomedical engineering research assistant at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, volunteered at the University of Maryland Medical Center and became a part time dental assistant.   She was then granted a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.   Dr. Stanton went on to attend The University of Maryland Baltimore College of Dental Surgery.  During her time in dental school, Dr. Stanton had her externship at Choptank Commuity Health System in Federalsburg, Maryland.  She was awarded the doctor of dental surgery degree upon her completion.

After graduation Dr. Stanton began practicing dentistry in Baltimore at the same office where she began as a dental assistant 23 years ago.  However, she always remembered the Eastern Shore from her externship and was happy to move there where she practiced in Cambridge and Easton for ten years.  Dr. Stanton began working at Chesapeake Comprehensive Dentistry in 2016 and couldn’t be happier.  Since graduation, she has participated in Continuing Education Courses all over the United States, Canada, Germany, Jamaica, Panama, and Puerto Rico.  She has attended the prestigious Dawson Academy (where she first met Dr. Allen and Dr. Gray in Boston) and is Invisalign, Clear Correct and Six Month Smiles Certified.  Dr. Stanton is past president of Cambridge Dental Educators, Past Eastern Shore Delegate for The Maryland State Dental Association, and current Vice President of the Eastern Shore Dental Society.  She maintains memberships with The Eastern Shore Dental Society, The Maryland State Dental Association, The American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.  Dr. Stanton also participates in the planning of the Eastern Shore Mission of Mercy.  She enjoys cosmetic dentistry because of the successful clinical results she has had.

Dr. Stanton lives in Trappe, Maryland with her husband and furry son.  She enjoys traveling, eating and watching the Ravens win!


Shannon Ashley - Business Assistant

Shannon was born and raised on the Eastern Shore and has been with the practice since 2005.  She is a graduate of Crisfield High School and Wor-Wic Community College, with a degree in Criminal Justice.

Shannon enjoys fitness training, traveling and spending time with her family.


Kelly Cawley, Certified Dental Assistant

Kelly was raised on the Eastern Shore and has been a dental assistant for 22 years.
