We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Carly Petersen! A native Oregonian with deep roots in the Portland-Metro area. Dr. Petersen puts her patients first. Her goal and mission is to provide quality, comprehensive care to her patients and their families. You all are her goal and mission! She wants your experience at the office to be superb and cannot wait to meet all of you!

"Hello! I am Dr. Carly Christoferson Petersen, founder of The Dentist on Boones Ferry. As someone who finds joy in her vocation, I am happy you’re here! Growing up, I was always told, “The prettiest thing you can wear is a smile.” This has been a mantra for me and is always something in the back of my mind as I am treating my patients. A natural people person, I am passionate about connecting with my patients on a personal level and understanding the fear and anxiety that can come with visits to the dental office. My staff and I highly value the patient experience and want nothing more than for you to leave your time at our office feeling relaxed and with a big smile on your face!

At a young age, I knew I wanted to be a dentist. My first job was working at my orthodontist’s office as a sterile technician. I recognize the importance of giving back and volunteered at White Bird Dental Clinic for four years before I was even a dentist. I seize any opportunity to give back to my community and recognize that dentistry is so much more than only the clinical piece. I also participated in dental materials research in the Oregon Health & Sciences Biomaterials lab, resulting in published papers on the dental composite depth of cure and curing lights. Exploring the field of dentistry has been, and will continue to be, a lifelong passion of mine.

I am a firm believer that to best serve my patients, I need to stay up-to-date with continuing dental education. Sunset Study Club, Oregon Dental Association, the OHSU School of Dentistry Alumni Board, Clackamas Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry are a few of the ways I do this. I am a leader in the Oregon Dental Association and a member of the New Dentist Council. Organized dentistry is fun, engaging, and truly enables me to serve my patients to the best of my ability.

A native Oregonian, I am thrilled to be practicing in the community I know and love. I am a lifelong Oregon Duck fan, a University of Oregon Alumni, and I love our dear state of Oregon. After graduating from the University of Oregon, I lived on the east coast for a year and worked for my sorority Pi Beta Phi. After that year was finished, I returned to Portland to complete my Doctorate at Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Dentistry. I was thrilled to return to my family, friends, and community in Portland. As someone with deep roots in the Portland metro area, nothing excites me more than having my own dental office on Boones Ferry where I can serve my incredible patients!"
