Our purpose at Heart and Sleep Clinics of America is to use evidenced-based methods to improve your overall health. This is not a one size fits all method – we conduct an individualized approach tailored to your specific needs. The dietitians at Heart & Sleep Clinics of America are dedicated in helping you achieve your weight loss and health goals. Eating a healthy diet should not be difficult. Our team therefor constructs plans that are designed to your daily routine making it easy to follow. In addition to weight management and heart healthy eating, our dietitians also specialize in:

Services

We provide a variety of services including nutrition counseling via face-to-face or telehealth appointments, body composition analysis, biometric analysis and grocery store tours.

Nutrition Counseling:

Visit 1 - (90 Minutes)

  • Initial consultation with collection and review of medical history, nutrition history, physical activity, intake forms.
  • Collection of biometric and anthropometric data including weight, height, BMI, body fat percentage, muscle percentage, blood pressure, metabolic rate, visceral fat, waist and hip measurements
  • Discussion of personalized eating and exercise strategies.
  • Development and discussion of short term and long term goals.
  • Education of macro and micronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, and fat).
  • You may leave this appointment with lab orders.

Visit 2 - (60 Minutes)

  • Discussion of risk factors based on measurements and ordered labs
  • Delivery and education of meal plan that is calculated specifically for you
  • Discussion of food journal
  • Ongoing collection of biometric data
  • Continued evaluation of nutrition, goals, and strategies

Follow-ups - All follow-up appointments are 30 minutes.

  • Ongoing collection of biometric data
  • Continued evaluation of nutrition, goals, and strategies
  • Tweaking of short term and long term action plans to best achieve goals

Appointments are typically scheduled 2 or more weeks apart to allow you time to reach the goals set at the previous appointment. As you progress, follow-up visits are scheduled on an as-needed basis.

Common questions one experiences at the grocery store are:

  • Am I buying the right foods?
  • Is this food “safe” to eat based on my medical conditions?
