We currently offer 2 types of COVID-19 testing to check for active infection, both are nasal swabs.
- Antigen test (frequently referred to as a rapid test). This test detects protein fragments specific to the Coronavirus. Returns results within 15-30 minutes.
- PCR test. This test actually detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection, even those who have no symptoms. Returns results within 1-2 business days(but may be longer in times of peak demand). We will typically see your child in a designated area of the office if they are suspected of having COVID-19.
