How does Botox work for facial rejuvenation?
Face wrinkles produced by repeated contraction of the muscles of facial expressions can be effectively treated by the injection of Neurotoxins such as Botox™, Dysport™ and Xeomin™.
Botox™ and Xeomin™ relax the muscles temporarily, resulting in smoothening of the face wrinkles.
These wrinkles include Forehead wrinkles (forehead lines), eye lines (crow’s feet), and glabellar wrinkles (frown lines). Botox is used for the chin and neck to smoothen neck bands and defines jaw line (tighten the chin). The effects of Botox™, Dysport™ and Xeomin™ usually lasts for four to six months, after which treatment needs to be repeated. Botox injection takes few minutes and usually does not require anesthesia. It requires minimal or no recovery time and you can get back to work promptly.
How are Dermal Fillers Used for Facial Rejuventation?
Facial rejuvenation can restore lost volume in your face. Dermal fillers such as Belotero and Radiesse injected into areas of lost volume produce good improvements. Dermal fillers add volume and fullness to the skin. They are used to treat wrinkles and depressions that are not deep and are not produced by overactivity of the facial muscles. Fillers treat loss of facial volume, tissue sagging, deepening of facial folds such as the nasolabial fold, and smoker’s lines (lipstick lines). Dermal fillers are also used to treat drooping mouth corners caused by aging.
Dermal fillers are also used for facial rejuvenation when problems are not related to age. Fillers are used for lip augmentation to enhance lip symmetry and to render the lips fuller and more attractive. Cheeks can be augmented with dermal fillers to replace lost volume and treat sunken looks. Neurotoxins and dermal fillers are often used together to cover full spectrum of face wrinkles.
