DIODE LASER

Offering everything from fast, self-sealing oral surgery to stronger, longer lasting fillings, the dental laser is now utilized on an almost daily basis. Its many uses include:

  • Gum (Periodontal) Therapy -The diode laser safely and quickly kills harmful bacteria in periodontal pockets. We can therefore treat mild periodontal disease with very little more than a routine cleaning and more serious periodontal conditions with very little more than scaling and root planing.
  • Oral Surgery- Gum surgery and excisions that previously required referral to an oral surgeon can now be safely and quickly performed right in our office.
  • Fillings and Crowns- Inflamed or over-grown gum tissue that can often delay or postpone restorative procedures can quickly be treated in the same appointment, dramatically improving quality and speeding up appointment length.

INTRAORAL CAMERA

The intraoral camera is an amazing diagnostic tool for viewing different angles in the mouth that we would not have been able to just a few years ago. The camera gives us the ability to view the entire mouth on a monitor so that we can get a closer look at any potential issues or problems that may arise. In addition, the patient will have the ability to see for themselves first hand the same images we are seeing. These digital images are also excellent for gaining procedure acceptance from insurance companies.

ROTARY ENDODONTICS

Endodontics, more commonly known as root canal therapy, is a procedure where the nerves of the tooth are removed; leaving the tooth intact. An infected (or abscessed) nerve is the most common cause of a toothache and, until root canal therapy, required extracting the tooth. Rotary Endodontics is a way of performing the root canal utilizing a specific electrical handpiece. This tool often makes the process faster and allows the dentist to perform the process with greater ease.

THE WAND

wand

The Wand is a revolutionary new computer controlled local anesthesia injection system that can provide a more comfortable and effective anesthetic delivery. Whether you get nervous about the injection or not, The Wand allows a more predictably comfortable injection, especially in the more sensitive areas such as the palate or front of the mouth. It also allows the use of less anesthetic and at certain times, techniques can be used to eliminate the collateral numbing of your face, tongue and lips. The needle is not what causes the main discomfort of an injection. It is the pressure and volume of the fluid going into the tissues. The microprocessor inside The Wand automatically compensates for different tissue densities. The anesthetic is delivered at a constant pressure and volume that's typically below the threshold of pain. The computer also provides a flow of anesthetic directly ahead of the needle. This numbs the site of insertion and develops a "pathway of anesthesia" so you hardly feel the needle at all. The Wand delivers the anesthetic at an optimal flow rate for a comfortable injection every time.
