Dr. Thurman - Taylor received her undergraduate degree at
Kansas State University
, majoring in Biology. She then graduated from dental school at the
University of Nebraska College of Dentistry
in 2007. She joined TLC Family Dentistry in 2007, and is passionate about providing exceptional patient care for the whole family.
Dr. Thurman-Taylor is originally from Great Bend, Kansas. She is married to Brent, and they have two young children. She loves running, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

in Lincoln, Nebraska where she received her undergraduate degree in Biology and played for the university tennis team. She then graduated from the
University of Nebraska College of Dentistry
, and joined TLC Family Dentistry in 2018. Dr. Ketchem enjoys building personal relationships with patients, and her mission is to provide quality dental care with honesty and compassion.
Dr. Ketchem is originally from Fremont, Nebraska. Along with her husband Tyler, she enjoys biking, Frisbee golfing, skiing, playing tennis, reading and spending time with family.

Lisa - Office Manager
Lisa grew up in rural southeast Kansas and moved to the Kansas City area to pursue a career in dental assisting. She has been dental assisting since 2003 and joined TLC Family Dentistry in 2012. She loves helping patients and working with a great team. Lisa is the problem solver in our office, always thinking outside of the box. Lisa is ready to help patients with any questions they may have, including helping patients understand their insurance benefits and financial responsibility.
In her free time, Lisa quilts and rides the off-road trails in her Jeep with her husband, Larry.
Margaret - Scheduling Coordinator
Margaret joined the TLC Family Dentistry team in early 2017 as our Scheduling Coordinator. She is an Iowa native, and earned her Dental Assisting Certification at ILCC, and Expanded Function Certificate at DMACC. She has worked in the dental field in both chairside and front office positions for over 20 years. Margaret enjoys working closely with patients to help them achieve their dental goals.
Margaret and her husband Bill live on an acreage near Creighton, and have three children who make them very proud. She enjoys being outdoors, working in flowerbeds, canoeing, and spoiling her pets.
DENTAL ASSISTANTS
Geri - Dental Assistant
Geri is a Kansas City native with over 2 decades of experience as a dental assistant. She became a certified dental assistant, has completed multiple expanded function certificates, and enjoys continuing her education. She believes that good oral care is so important to overall health that she willingly dedicates time to volunteer to educate elementary schools on the benefits of home care. Geri has also participated in the Mission of Mercy and the annual Give Kids a Smile event we host in our office.
Geri practices good nutrition and exercise and appreciates art and nature. Some of her favorite activities are visiting museums, local farmers markets, hiking trails, and swimming. Geri lives in Independence with her husband, Dan, and enjoys traveling to visit her daughters Marla and Paige.
Gerianne - Dental Assistant
Gerianne grew up in Independence and has over 2 decades of experience as a dental assistant. She attended Concorde Career Institute for dental assisting, has completed skills exams and earned certificates, and has experience in both clinical and private practice. She joined the TLC Family Dentistry team in 2015.
In her free time, Gerianne enjoys activities such as going to the lake, spending time with family and friends, and shopping.

Karen - R.D.H.
Karen has almost 3 decades experience as a Registered Dental Hygienist and has been with TLC Family Dentistry since 2011. She is a graduate of UMKC Dental Hygiene Program. She loves her profession and believes in treating patients with respect and compassion and is dedicated to providing dental care that promotes optimal oral health and a healthy smile.
In her free time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and trout fishing. Karen and her husband, Darren, have been married since 1991 and they live in Pleasant Hill with their two children, Emily, and Walker.
Marlene - R.D.H.
Marlene is a Registered Dental Hygienist and joined our team in 2012. Marlene attained her Dental Hygiene training from Wichita State University and then moved to Florida where she practiced for many years. Marlene then relocated back to the Midwest to be closer to her family. Marlene’s dental experience gives her the ability to help patients feel comfortable and at ease while delivering the best possible care.
She now lives in the downtown Kansas City area where she enjoys activities such as walking, bike riding, and watching the Chiefs and Royals.
Jeanna - R.D.H.
Jeanna is a Registered Dental Hygienist, and joined our team in the summer of 2017. She is a graduate of the Concorde Career College Dental Hygiene Program, and has over 10 years of experience in the dental field. She truly loves what she does and wants to make a difference in her patients lives.
Jeanna lives in Raymore with her husband, Josh, and they have three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, making crafts, cooking, and listening to music.
Crystal - R.D.H.
Crystal is a Registered Dental Hygienist, and joined our team in the summer
of 2018. She is a graduate of the UMKC Dental Hygiene Program, and has over
10 years of experience in the dental field. She enjoys making patients
feel comfortable and giving them the best care possible
Crystal lives in Lee's Summit with her husband, Kyle, and they have two
children. When she's not at work she enjoys hanging out with her family and
stays busy with her kids many activities.
