Dr. Nielsen earned his medical degree from theUniversity of South Florida College of Medicine in Tampa, Florida in 1991 and completed his internship at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida and his residency at the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Nielsen also completed two fellowships in Dermatopathology: the first at New York University and the second at the Ohio State University. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society of Dermatopathology and has staff privileges at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, FL. Dr. Nielsen is Board Certified in Dermatology as well as Dermatopathology of the combined Board of Dermatology and Pathology and continues to maintain his certification in both disciplines.

On a personal note, Dr. Tim, as he is known by some of his patients, has been married for over 26 years to his wife Karen. He enjoys boating, fishing, gardening and traveling, particularly cruising and is an avid sports fan who follows games of mostly Florida teams and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
