What if you could have all your dentistry that you have been putting off for years in the conventional dental office in one or two comfortable visits?
What if you could finally receive all of your treatment free of fear and pain?
We specialize in Oral Conscious Sedation Dentistry, treating our patients with dental phobias and anxieties. We offer different types of sedation dentistry. These include administering oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide (laughing gas). All this depends on the needs of the patient.
In this way the patient and the dentist are comfortable providing and receiving the best possible dental care free of stress and pain.
What is Oral Conscious Sedation Dentistry?
The patient is given oral medication about one hour before your appointment. The medicine puts you in a light state of sedation and you are very relaxed through your dental appointment. It is safe! If you are nervous or fearful about dental treatment, sedation can help relax you, making your experience more pleasant and pain free. With the use of a sedative pill, you can relax and easily spend 3, 4, 5, or more totally comfortable hours in the dental chair and at the end of the appointment, often times not even remembering the entire appointment!
You will need someone to drive you to and from your appointment. Once you arrive, you are allowed to rest comfortably in a warm, quiet room under a cozy blanket. During the entire time you are here, we will closely monitor your blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation to ensure your complete safety and you will have one of Dr. Pruitt’s assistants with you at all times.
Complex dental treatments that often require six or more appointments can be done in as little as one! This form of sedation is officially called “oral conscious sedation” since you can be aroused very easily to talk, go to the bathroom, or have a drink.
