My Child's Medications Are Not Covered By Insurance Or Are Too Expensive
What Can I Do Now?

Option 1. Check Your Formulary (prescription drug list of all preferred medications covered by your insurance plan). You can view your formulary on your health insurance plan’s website or by calling your insurance company. If a drug is not on the formulary, it means it won’t be covered 100% by your insurance. Alternative medications (similar to the ones yourpediatrician prescribed) that are covered by your plan will be listed on the formulary.
Next? Call our Johns Creek Pediatrics office at 770-814-1160 or send a portal message to your provider to give us the formulary medication names. We will be happy to send in a new prescription to your preferred pharmacy.
Option 2. Check GoodRx or Google Search your child’s prescribed medication to find manufacturer coupons that may be available online. Provide that information to your pharmacist.
Option 3. Call Anchor Pharmacy located in Duluth, GA at 770-225-5077 for additional assistance in getting your child’s medication covered. They may have access to prescription coupons and home delivery options to get your child the medication they need. If you decide to use
Anchor Pharmacy to fill your child’s medications, let your provider know by calling our office or sending a portal message.
Option 4. Consider the Kroger Health Savings Club–an annual membership program (individual or family plan options) that provides access to reduced prices on thousands of prescription medications. You can take advantage of this savings club even if you have private insurance. When picking up your child’s medication or beforehand, ask your pharmacist if the medication will be least expensive through the Kroger Health Savings club, your insurance, or possibly another savings card option to which the pharmacy may have access.
