Tooth Pain

Tooth Pain – is it momentary or on-going?

If you are experiencing momentary sensitivity to hot or cold foods, this generally does not signal a serious problem. It may be caused by minor decay, a loose filling or minor receding of gums.  Try using toothpaste made for sensitive teeth and brush with a soft or extra-soft brush. If the pain persists, set up an appointment to come in. There’s no reason to hurt. Your body’s trying to tell you something.

Tooth pain or sensitivity on an on-going basis, could be an indication of a chipped or cracked tooth, abscessed tooth, dental decay or infection.  Set up an appt to see an endodontist right away, since they specialize in diagnosing and treating tooth pain.

Don’t go through the holidays with a sore or swollen mouth, when a quick trip to Cascadia Dental Specialists can help you find the source of the problem and quickly relieve you of the pain.
