Endodontics deals with diseases of the tissues, nerves, and blood vessels in the tooth. The most typical endodontic procedure is referred to as a “root canal,” a process utilized to remove infected tissue and refill the nerve canal in the tooth. A root canal will allow you to retain your natural tooth while eliminating the infection.

Root Canal Therapy

A root canal is a procedure that is done when the pulp of the tooth gets an infection. Causes of infection may include significant decay, large cracks or breaks in the teeth, or trauma to the face.

During a root canal, the root and pulp are discarded so the tooth can be disinfected and sealed. A root canal effectively removes an infection while letting the tooth keep its natural strength. If not treated, the tooth infection can result in serious swelling and the infection can advance all through the mouth, neck and face. Depending on the where and how serious the infection is, we may give you a referral to a specialist to get treatment.
