Fillers

Fillers are among the most popular procedures in our office because they offer patients a safe and effective method of rejuvenating the face.  Fillers can be used to improve the appearance of fine lines, deeper wrinkles and folds, hallows, volume loss, and acne scarring. Additionally, fillers can be used to enhance the fullness of the lips and for facial contouring.

Listed below are some of the different fillers that we offer at South Nassau Dermatology:

Juvéderm® Ultra Plus XC

JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus injectable gel is a hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into facial tissue to smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth.  Juvederm Ultra Plus is a thicker more viscous substance than Juvederm Ultra. Therefore, Ultra Plus can provide more dramatic results in areas with deeper lines and hollows in the skin.

Juvéderm® Ultra XC
JUVÉDERM® Ultra is also a hyaluronic acid gel that helps with fine lines. However, Juvederm Ultra is more appropriate for superficial locations and finer lines and wrinkles.

Juvéderm® XC Voluma
Voluma is another hyaluronic acid filler that was specifically developed for the purpose of restoring volume to deflated cheeks and chin. Re-plumping the cheeks and balancing the chin profile can provide a more youthful appearance. Results are instant and natural looking, and typically last up to 24 months. Voluma is the only filler on the market that is advertised with such longevity.

Juvéderm® Volbella
Volbella was developed specifically for lip augmentation and correction of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. It is used to not only define the lip border, but also plump the lip body. It can also be used to fill in “smoker’s lines.” If you desire a subtle, natural, but fuller look, then Volbella is a great choice. A topical numbing agent is applied 10-20 minutes prior to injections, making it a relatively comfortable process. On average, results last about nine to twelve months.

Juvéderm® Vollure XC
Vollure is a newer hyaluronic acid injectable gel filler in the Juvederm family. It is typically used to soften parentheses lines, which are the lines that appear around your nose and mouth when your face is at rest. Treating these areas with Vollure can instantly and visibly reduce the appearance of these lines. Clinical studies show that this product can last up to 18 months, although results may vary from patient to patient.

Belotero®
Belotero is a hyaluronic gel that is similar to existing fillers and can be used for multiple areas. These areas include the lips, temple area, smile lines, and in some cases, superficial lines around the eyes and forehead. Unlike some other fillers that can cause lumps under the skin, you are unlikely to feel Belotero beneath the treated area. This is especially important in areas such as the lips. On average, results last 6-12 months.

Restylane®

Restylane® can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth.

Restylane® Lyft

Restylane® Lyft, formerly known as Perlane, is a sister product to Restylane. Restylane Lyft is also a hyaluronic acid filler that is designed to treat pronounced facial folds, as well as provide cheek and mid face volume. This product helps restore surface contour to create a younger-aged appearance. Like Restylane, Restylane Lyft typically remains in your skin for about six to nine months.

Radiesse®
Radiesse® is a revolutionary injectable filler approved by the FDA for cosmetic use in treating nasolabial folds. It is composed of calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres suspended in an aqueous carrier gel. The calcium microspheres are similar to minerals
occurring naturally in the body. When injected into the skin, Radiesse adds volume and provides correction immediately.  It also stimulates production of the body’s own collagen, with results that can last for a year of more after the procedure.
