Services

Lovelight Pediatrics offers a full array of services to help your child maintain optimal health. You can read more on this page about specific services.

Services we offer include:

Well-child care

From birth through age 21, we follow the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommendations for well child care. From growth & developmental monitoring, to evaluations for specific parent concerns, these visits are an important part of a healthy childhood. We perform yearly vision & hearing evaluations and follow the CDC's vaccination schedule. We also provide counseling & anticipatory guidance that is in line with the AAP's Bright Futures program.

  • Vision screening for infants: Lovelight is proud to offer vision testing in children aged 1-5 years old using photoscreening. Photoscreening is an emerging technology which allows for the detection of visual impairment in those who are too young to be tested using a vision chart. Vision impairment is the #1 disabling childhood condition in the United States, and can lead to blindness and learning disabilities. If detected *early*, it is almost always *treatable*. We believe that every child has a right to early screening & detection. We perform vision photoscreening yearly at the appropriate well child visits. Please feel free to ask more about this service!
  • On-site lead & hemoglobin collection: The state of Maryland requires that all 1- and 2-year-olds be tested for both anemia and lead poisoning. These tests are important, and often deferred or delayed by families when a blood draw is necessary. At Lovelight, we use a fingerstick collection technique, which is tolerated extremely well by infants. Our hemoglobin is resulted during your visit in-house, and lead results (which are sent to LabCorp for processing) are usually available within 48 hours. If you have further questions about this service, just ask!
Acute care

Does your child have the sniffles? Fever? Growing pains... or is it something more? We offer same-day and same-week appointments for any acute illnesses or symptoms that may arise for your child.

Ear Piercing

Dr. Sisler uses the Blomdahl piercing system to perform earlobe piercings in females of all ages. This system is medically sterilized; as our clinic uses medical-grade plastic studs (rather than metal studs) for the piercing process, it eliminates the risk of developing a metal allergy. Ear piercing is not covered by insurance plans, and must be paid for at the time of service. Call for more information!

Mental Health

Dr. Sisler has completed the Patient-Centered Mental Health in Pediatric Primary Care course through the Reach Institute. She has experience with diagnosis & medical management of many mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, and attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. We do not currently offer in-office counseling services, but hope to have that resource in the future.

Prayer Group

Lovelight Pediatrics hosts a prayer meeting for mothers, grandmothers, and other female caregivers. More information on these meetings can be found on our Facebook page, titled "Mothers Shining Lovelight: Praying for our Children".
