Why have macular degeneration vitamin supplements?
It is important to our practice to offer supplements to our patients that are at risk for macular degeneration . After much research, including reading journals, and speaking directly to supplement companies and their scientists, Chicagoland Eye Consultants made the choice to offer patients EyePromise Restore® (with and without Zinc) and Zeaxanthin + Lutein. During the patients eye exam, patients will undergo a quick test, the QuantifEye® , which measures and provides a score for the patients macular pigment optical density (MPOD). If the patient’s score is low, one of the three EyePromise macular degeneration supplements will be recommended. The patient will be advised to return six months later to see if their MPOD score improved.
