Child And Adolescent Counseling

Children and adolescents experience social, behavioral or emotional difficulties, too, including frustration, depression, risky behavior, self-esteem issues and anger. But, often, they are unable to express their feelings so their challenges may manifest in less direct ways. For example, young people may act out their problems, exhibit behavioral disturbances or internalize their issues and isolate or withdraw. Yet all of these behaviors may be signs that a child or teen needs help understanding and developing skills to address their psychological problems before they become crises.

Through a variety of approaches, SPS clinicians can help children and adolescents navigate developmental challenges by providing emotional support and sharing coping and communication skills needed to alleviate distress, based on their unique needs.
