Hermanett Opele is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Rhode Island who has been practicing since 2011. She graduated from the Simmons School of Social Work. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Simmons University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from College of the Holy Cross. Don’t let mental health issues define you. Hermanett has worked 12-plus years providing counseling services to adults, children, and their families ranging from ages 5 to 80 years old. She has treated symptoms of anxiety, Bipolar, depression, trauma, life changes, schizophrenia, dual diagnosis, relationship issues, grief, and other psychiatric disorders. She utilizes a collaborative approach providing a safe, non-judgmental space for you to openly explore and work through challenges. Hermanett has an abundance of experience working with marginalized and oppressed individuals, families, and communities. Her primary area of focus includes but not limited to trauma informed care, trauma counseling, cultural/ethnic, and LGBTQIA+ related issues. Hermanett is a calm, warm, friendly, a committed counselor, eager to help you make necessary changes. She enjoys helping the whole person and addresses anything that impacts your growth. She makes her clients feel comfortable and provides the appropriate support in the most difficult situations. Every session starts with an intake, followed by a treatment plan that allows exploration of specific goals and interventions that fit your needs. Be it strengths based, play therapy, emotion/trauma focused, harm reduction, CBT, or DBT; every intervention model is evidence-based. In her spare time, Hermanett enjoys traveling, time with family and friends, rest, sleep, reading, outdoor activities, and exercise.
