Nathan Capalbo

Dr. Capalbo's first goal upon meeting new clients is to build a strong therapeutic relationship by creating a safe, non-judgmental environment. He has experience working with school-age children, young adults and adults. His area of specialty is focused around topics related to anxiety, depression, adjustment, identity development and a wide variety of challenges faced by college students. Additionally, he has experience working with children experiencing bullying, parental separation and abuse. Dr. Capalbo has focused much of his research on Autism and is interested in continuing his work with children and adults on the Autism Spectrum. He has experience providing care in an assortment of capacities, ranging from out-patient practices, residential facilities, schools, college counselling centers and in-home settings. Dr. Capalbo believes in a client-centered approach to treatment and uses a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as mindfulness practices. Dr. Capalbo believes in tailoring the approach to each client's unique background, needs and requests.
