Restorations

Dental restorations, or a dental filling, is a treatment to restore the function, integrity, and structure of teeth due to caries (cavities) or external trauma. They are placed in teeth after the cavity is removed. There are two common type of restorations, silver or amalgam fillings and composite or white/tooth colored fillings. Both types have advantages and disadvantages. Tooth colored fillings are used for front teeth and other visible areas.

These Composite materials are durable and can withstand the forces of chewing. ***In addition, broken teeth. We carefully match the composite material to your natural tooth color and structure to create a restoration that is virtually undetectable. Amalgam fillings are very strong and have a long life span. They are traditionally used for back/molar teeth. Dr. Yavner will discuss the options with each patient and provide the type of restoration best suited to the situation.
