I recently moved to the area from Washington, DC. I started some considerable dental work while I was there and continued after my move. My dentist in DC said I needed a root canal before she would put in some new crowns. I did my research and found Dr. Parker. After taking X-rays and an exam, Dr. Parker quickly assured me I did not need a root canal. I returned to DC to finish the dental work that had already been in process, and paid for, and shortly after my return to IL, one crown fell out and I noticed my bite was all off accompanied by some pain. I met with Dr. Parker and he quickly corrected all of my issues. I cant say enough about his experience and expertise coupled with a great staff.

This Dental practice is AMAZING! They have such a wonderful staff and offer pain free procedures. When I say pain free, that's EXACTLY what I mean. I had to get a deep cleaning done and was dreading it. But after having the procedure done, to my surprise it was breeze. The oral hygienist, Francisco, gives you a numbing mouthwash instead of poking you with numerous needles! He was very thorough and was always making sure that I wasn't in any pain or discomfort. The staff there isn't judgmental like some have been in the past. I highly recommend this Dental Center! Thanks Dr. Parker and Francisco for making my smile squeaky clean!!!! :D

Excellent. Both me and my daughters were using a different dentist, then she had some extreme pain and we went in for an urgent appointment. The dentist was thorough, gentle and my daughter walked out smiling, then my youngest went she also had a great experience, they were gentle, no pain, explained everything and were caring. So as a mother who would you choose a dentist that does only the necessary work, no pain, and is gentle.

After some HORRENDOUS experiences with another dentist in Vernon Hills, I went to Dr. Parker for a second opinion, and I couldn't be happier that I did. We've been "watching" the spots my last dentist said I needed fillings for for over 2 years now, and none of them have become cavities. I truly appreciate his prevention methods. The one filling he did place on the tip of my tooth (a very difficult spot to stay put), matches perfectly and has not fallen out. The staff is always personable and friendly as well!

I came here because another dentist wanted to to charge me 1300 out of pocket for 2 crowns on 2 cracked teeth and I did not want to pay that much!

I arrived for my crowns apt. And the dentist told me he didn't really think I needed ANY crowns. And that he would hate to drill on my teeth if there wasn't a real problem. He expressed concern that he did not know why anyone would have put crowns on those teeth to begin with.

He saved me 1300 dollars and didn't even charge me for the exam.

I will not be going anywhere else!

Also his staff was very on top of things and extremely helpful.

I've been to several dentists during my time in Vernon Hills, but Vernon Hills Dental Center is the best! The hygienists are very kind and make sure you are comfortable during the procedure, but they are also thorough with their work; I feel like my teeth are so much cleaner after I leave an appointment. Dr. Parker makes you feel as though he truly cares about you and the health of your teeth. He never tries to sell procedures or do any unnecessary work. The administrative staff is also very kind and transparent about billings and costs. I highly recommend coming here if you've been burned by crap service by other dentists before!

I've been going to VHDC for a year and a half now and I absolutely love going to VHDC. Dr. Parker is quite competent and his staff is super friendly. They make you feel at ease when you go and aren't pushy unlike other practices. My insurance is promptly billed for services and I've never had one billing problem since I've been going here. In terms payments (on the patient's end), they can be extremely flexible if the situation calls for it. My records are electronic and they do a fabulous job keeping my record and a detailed billing and payment history. I like the fact they keep late hours a couple nights a week and are there on Saturdays for several hours.

As far as doing unnecessary work, Sr. Parker is one of the most honest and ethical dentists I've ever had so there's absolutely no worries about being taken advantage of. Dr. Parker really cares for his patients and doing what's in their best interest. He only does what absolutely has to be done for you. Nothing more. Nothing less.

In terms of emergencies, one can expect to hear back rather quickly from Dr. Parker. Earlier this year, I had a chipped front tooth and called Dr. Parker's cell number after normal business hours. I left a message and heard back within the next few hours and, to my surprise, Dr. Parker was calling me from his daughter's sports functions. He got me in to his office the very next morning and fixed my tooth. He also fixed some smaller chips on my front teeth at the end of May and I couldn't be more pleased with the quality of this man's work and how he and his staff go out of their way to accommodate people even when they're rather full and God awful busy in the office.

I hate going to the dentist. I had several horrible experiences years ago and remained scarred from the experience. Add to that this is an entirely NEW dentist and my anxiety was skyrocketing for a root canal. Lucky for me my follow Yelpers came through with an amazing recommendation. Dr. Parker is so nice! I went in with tooth pain & sensitivity that was unbearable. I had a cavity that went to the nerve. I was embarrassed because I let it get so bad, but I was never once made to feel bad about it. And when I went back a few days later for my root canal, I didn't even feel the needle going in, after the numbing gel was rubbed into my gum. It was amazing! I didn't feel a thing with the root canal. He walked me through every step, and totally put my mind at ease. I'm SO glad I am with this dental group. Even the staff is friendly & puts you at ease. Being at Dr. Parker's office will make it much more pleasant, and I'll be more faithful about going every 6 months

I was very fearful of the dentist and neglected my teeth for years. I finally broke down and went to Dr. "Painless" Parker. I was immediately put at ease and surprised at how painless even major fillings were. Dr. Parker explains everything in detail before doing any work and constantly stops to make sure you're comfortable. His front office staff is always pleasant and helpful. There has been some rotation in dental assistants, but they've all been pleasant and competent. I wish I would've found this guy years ago before I let so much damage occur. His practice is growing, so appointments are a little further out than when I first started going, but it's worth it.

I came to Dr. Parker a frightened patient with a history of some excruciatingly painful dental procedures under my belt. His caring demeanor could be felt the second he first entered the room and permeated throughout the procedure. He not only put me at ease immediately, but, astoundingly, I felt NO PAIN AT ALL when he injected the Novocain to numb me, and did not even feel achy post-procedure. Walking into Vernon Hills Dental Center the first thing you'll notice is the lack of that cold sterile feel you get when walking into other doctors offices. That telltale "Dentist office smell" is also missing from the air which makes the entire place feel much more relaxing right off the bat. The staff was very friendly and understanding as well as easy to talk to, interacting with Dr. Parker felt like I was with a good friend or daresay even like a dad who had the utmost understanding of the fear people have in dental work. He kept me at ease and always asked if I was comfortable with a situation as well as being flexible and patient with his procedures to make me more at ease. The work done was quick and efficient and it was over before I knew it, but all through that I didn't feel like he was rushing anything. Overall I would highly recommend this office and will be making a return trip. I want to add that I have a deep seated fear of dentists stemming from childhood. Like others, it's an irrational fear that I've been fighting most of my life but it's a hard battle and even as an adult knowing how irrational the fear is, doesn't make it go away. Heavy anxiety bordering on panic attacks and extreme stress is what I deal with before walking into a dentists office, so being able to be walk into this office with no medication to relax me and to feel welcome and relaxed in the waiting room then go through a procedure with Dr. Parker and his wonderful staff is saying quite a lot.

Dr Parker is the best dentist I have ever come across. I had to get a new crown on one of my tooth after I had undergone root canal treatment at another dentist location. Not only Dr. Parker explained the smallest details in my dental treatment but also during fixing of crown on my tooth, he made sure that crown fixed correctly and made adjustments to it until he was completely sure that the crown aligned properly with my existing teeth. All the staff at his office are also very pleasant and friendly. The overall experience in my dental treatment has been extremely satisfying. The world would be a great place if every doctor is like Dr. Parker. He went out of his way to think for the patient under his care. He does whatever is required to solve the patient's problems---in my case, I have had greater needs for dental services long before I met Dr. Parker. I still have more dental needs than any typical person on the street. So knowing Dr. Parker is a great deal for me. He never does anything more than medically necessary even if helps with his billing. He only does work if it helps the patient both in the short run and in the long run. Good man. Decent person. I was very apprehensive about going to the dentist. I've neglected my teeth my whole life and was very ashamed. Dr. Parker and staff were very friendly and non-judgmental. Treatment plan was laid out in the first visit and divided up into six future visits for treatment. Just had some fillings done today. No pain whatsoever. I found a new dentist!

Let me just say this first I HATE dentists.. I hadn't seen a dentist in 15 years because of prior experiences but i found myself with a abscessed tooth. After calling around in a great deal of pain. Dr. Parker was the only dentist that would see me right away....6:00 at night. Because of a heart condition and the infection, we had to wait a week and a half before he could extract the tooth. In that time he made sure my cardiologist made the right decision on medication, got rid of the infection and made sure I was managing the pain. The extraction was the best dental experience I have ever had. Even the shots did not hurt. Now a day later I feel great. I plan on going to Dr. Parker on a regular basis, which for me is a miracle, many thanks.

My husband came across Dr. Parker after needing emergency treatment and getting great service. Now all the family see Dr. Parker and he is great. I have two young children and he is attentive and patient with them and talks them through what is happening. Going to the dentist for them is a fun experience, especially when they get to choose a toy from the treasure chest!

There are not enough words to properly describe and thank Dr. Parker for his expertise! I have major anxiety about having my teeth cleaned and having cavities filled. I just started using Dr. Parker about a year ago and I now have no stress or anxiety when I walk into Vernon Hills Dental!! I'm not even lying! The karma of the office is like no other!! The staff is all so nice and happy to be there helping you. If you don't LOVE going to the dentist office, you must give Dr. "Painless" Parker a try. After a bad experience at another dentist and an unusually high estimate, I went to Dr. Parker for a second opinion. I am so glad I did! I had a MUCH better experience and saved over $1000 in unnecessary procedures. He has a unique way of administering the shot that does not hurt at all. I would highly recommend Vernon Hills Dental Center. I have been to about 20 dentists in my life and this one is far and above the best!

My last dentist did not do a great job at putting in my crown which eventually chipped because there was not enough space between the teeth. I put off repairing the tooth for a long time because I do not like going to the dentist at all. You could say I despise it. My wife found Dr. Parker's information while searching and the reviews were all very positive so she decided to go. After hearing her great review of the experience, I decided it was time for me to take care of my crown.

Upon seeing my chipped crown, he described why it happened and what needs to be done to may sure it doesn't happen again. He also recommended getting a different strength of crown because of the tight space between my teeth so it can withstand the pressure (he even showed me a video of the crown being hit by a hammer on a wood surface and the crown was unharmed). I was sold!

After taking a mold of my mouth, we scheduled a time to put in the crown once it was made. This appointment had to be pushed back a few weeks as I was traveling for work. When we finally found a time that worked, I walked in and Dr. Parker asked how my trip and presentations went (I don't know about you, but I've never met a dentist who took such an interest in their patients that he remembered why we couldn't meet for several weeks). The crown was set it and Dr. Parker spent an hour smoothing it out and ensuring my bite was not affected by the new crown. I could not be happier with how the whole process went and how the crown feels.

I was waiting to write this review so I could definitively tell the readers that the crown is still in place and feels great. Dr. Parker's knowledge and humor has made a patient for life. I actually look forward to going to the dentist now, which I never thought I would ever say!

I went to a new dentist a few weeks ago, his name is Dr. Parker or do you prefer Steve “Painless” Parker. I like the dental center’s hours – the fact that I was able to schedule a dental cleaning at 6 pm on Monday evening was convenient indeed. I used to go to a dentist in Antioch which is about 45 minutes north of here and the last appointment was typically at 4-4:30. This meant I had two options – leave work early to make the late afternoon appointment or schedule something on Saturday morning. He asked what I did for a job or career. He appeared to be genuinely interested. I couldn’t respond to many of his questions except some brief mentions of quality and process work and he related it to some of his experiences with quality while serving in the Navy for many years. He’s honest, he recommended an electric toothbrush, not that he gets any compensation for that but felt in my situation with excess surface, the electric toothbrush could do a good job covering that excess surface. After mentioning this, he asked his assistant to find a coupon for the electric toothbrush. I’ve never had a dentist do that before – pleasant surprise. I balked at X-rays initially but he took a few minutes to explain why. X-rays sent from my previous dentist were not complete and he needed to see the bottom of one of my teeth. Dr. Parker appeared to do a good job with the cleaning and told me if I flossed every day, I’d be in the 3 percent club…I guess a goal to consider? He shook my hand before and after the cleaning. Overall, nice experience as a client of Dr. Parker’s at the Vernon Hills Dental Center. I certainly will return and indeed, this would qualify as a fine customer interaction or as I sometimes say, Empathic Service.

I have been to a lot of dentists over the years, Dr. Parker is by far the best! He is truly "Painless Parker", Really knows his stuff, considerate and a really nice guy.

I am a person who doesn't like to go to the dentist after all the bad experiences I had from my previous dentist. I am very terrified getting the anesthesia. My heart beats faster and I always start shaking. Dr. Parker explained to me specifically the answers to my fears. Dr. Parker was very patient explaining to me why things happened! The day that I was there to for my wisdom tooth extraction, it was unbelievable that I survived! I didn't feel anything! Even the next day. It was very well done! I thought I was gonna have a panic attack that time. I have put this off for a year. I made it, and Dr. Parker was very understanding about how fearful I was that day. He is very professional and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable and nothing bad happened to me. This changed my whole experience going to the dentist. From now on I am not going to be scared anymore going to the dentist and I will only go Dr. Parker's dental office. Thank you Dr. Parker!

Dr. Parker and his staff are amazing! The evening hours work very well with my crazy work schedule. His painless approach puts me at ease and my fear of the dentist is practically gone. I cannot say enough about Dr. Parker - if you haven't been to the dentist lately or are looking to make a change, he is most definitely the way to go.

Let me start by saying, I don' t like going to the dentist and have put it off for about 3 years. I finally decided to go to the Vernon Hills Dental Center after reading the reviews and it was a terrific experience. Dr. Parker and his staff made me feel very comfortable and completely changed my views of the dentist. He was very knowledgeable and explained every step of the process. He also uses state of the art technology to show you what is going on with your teeth. I have finally found a dentist to visit every 6 months and not put it off for another 3 years. If you were like me and put off the dentist visits, stop by his office and you will change your mind like I did. Highly recommended!!!

If any one is like myself, than the last place you want to be is in the dentist chair. I have been through many dentists, From ones that didn't have a clue, to ones breaking my jaw. Since finding DR.PAINLESS PARKER, I actually enjoy going to the dentist. The new facility is wonderful along with the staff. If you need a Great dentist, than you need to schedule an appointment with DR. PAINLESS PARKER & SEE, not feel what, THE BEST DENTIST can do for you and your family. Thank You once again Jim M.

After my long overdue dental appointment, I really appreciate the service I received regarding my crown and other dental treatments. One other dentist recommended that I need root canals along with a new crown. I visited Dr. Parker 's office for a second opinion and he assured me that I just needed a crown. He showed me the x-rays and explained what I really needed. Dr. Parker also replaced some old fillings that were over 20 years old. Dr. Parker was concerned about my dental health not my dental wealth. The crown fit fine on the first try, no high spots. I no longer have any problems with the tooth that needed a crown. I feel much better now that I have all my dental work completed. I am considering the teeth-whitening club now that I have all my dental problems corrected. I am comfortable visiting this office. I travel all the way in from Mc Henry County. I hope Dr. Parker can open clinic closer to my home.

Dr. Parker came through in a big, big way and saw me the same day because of an emergency! My tooth was hurting to the point where I was chewing on ice cubes, so he saw me and did some dental work and helped me through it. His close location is why I originally showed up at his office, but it worked out perfectly, as he is helpful and his knowledge is great. He is now my regular dentist, and I recommend him to others without hesitation!

Vernon Hills Dental Center is by far the best Dental practice around. Wonderful with children and puts them at ease and pain free. Excellent staff that are very professional along with some of the best rates in Northern Chicagoland area. Will be making this my Dental Office for years to come.

WOW!!! I am beyond impressed!!! I came to Illinois to see my stepson graduate from the naval training center in Great Lakes... One of my veneers came off on the trip from Texas partly due to a cavity as well as me grinding my teeth in my sleep... I found an add for this dental office with Saturday hours and was lucky to be seen... Dr. Parker and his staff are by far the best that I have experienced in my 41 years... Pleasant and professional down to art form... "Painless Parker" as he is called by his patients is well deserved and earned... I had broken my tooth the night before and needed it fixed right away. I contacted his office (which has excellent staff members) and they were able to see me the next day. My brother was taken into the hospital that morning for major surgery and doctor Parker worked around the time that I needed to be at the hospital. I had found Dr. Parker through an ENT doctor. I had gone through a horrendous experience with another dentist earlier in the year. What should have been a little cavity being filled, turned out to be a major crown! The dentist kept telling me that I must no longer be able to take nova Caine, which lead to several appointments. that left me in the worst pain I had ever felt. Then he gave me a crown that everyone refers to either as a "boat" or a "battleship".

I had a horrible fear of Dentists due to previous childhood experiences, but I needed another Dentist. since the last one left me in such bad shape. I contacted Dr. Parker's office and explained about the crown, my fears of dentists and the horrible pain I was in. Dr. Parker was willing to see me the following Saturday (at my request). He met me at the door and sat with me to explain what he was going to do. They did end up having to do a major root canal on the tooth. The crown is actually 2 or 3 times the size of what I should have been given. He's also fixing the size of the crown as it was throwing off my jawline and causing me to bite the inside of my mouth.

Dr. Parker has earned the name "Painless Parker"! His whole team was excellent. I no longer want to scream every time I eat or drink. They were patient, informative, gentle and fun to be with.

I broke another tooth two nights ago. I no longer fear contacting my Dentist! I don't break into a sweat or have my knuckles turn white from holding them so tight before going in.

He and his staff truly make you feel comfortable, informed, work with your schedule, but most of all do a terrific job! I love this practice and would (and do) recommend it to anyone looking for a new dentist. He and his staff go above and beyond!

VHDC takes care of my family. The facilities and equipment are brand new, the interior design of the space is quite beautiful. Dr. Parker is wonderful- very understanding of patient concerns, excellent with children and top notch in his profession. He will not do things, like drill & fill, where it's not 100% necessary. I have never had a dentist that doesn't want to drill and fill all of the time. If you have small children, the staff is trained to make them feel at home and get them through the process. Overall, this is the best dental practice I've ever gone to. The dental personnel are well connected to area orthodontists as well, a bonus when dealing w/ both issues in small children. I recommend VHDC strongly as it's really hard to find a great dentist! Peter Barnes- Libertyville, IL
