ADHD

What is ADHD?

ADHD is a condition of the brain that makes it difficult for children to stay focused and control their behavior. It is one of the most common chronic conditions of childhood. It affects 4% to 12% of school-aged children.

The biggest difference between ADD and ADHD is that kids with ADHD are hyperactive. They have trouble sitting still and are so restless that teachers quickly notice their behavior and suspect there might be attention issues involved. Symptoms of inattentive type of ADHD are less noticeable. Kids with the inattentive type of ADHD may have trouble finishing tasks or following directions. They may be easily distracted and appear forgetful or careless.

At All Better Pediatric Group, we follow the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. If you think your child has ADHD, talk to our pediatricians to determine a treatment plan to help your child lead a happy and healthy life.
