Dr. Michael King along with his wife, Michelle, a dental hygienist and office administrator, bring over 25 years of experience in providing comprehensive, preventative, restorative, and surgical dental therapy to the Jackson community. They have two children: Madison and Blake.
Dr. King, a native of Obion County, completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Tennessee at Martin (B.S. Biology) in 1988. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry in 1993 graduating with high honors. After completing a General Practice Residency at the University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital in Knoxville, he moved to Jackson in 1994 to continue his lifelong commitment to the practice of dentistry.
Dr. King has served his profession by being a member of several dental organizations and holding past leadership positions including President of the Jackson Study Club, President of the Seventh District Dental Society, President of the Tennessee Academy of General Dentistry, and currently Trustee on the board of the Academy of General Dentistry serving four states: TN, KY, WV, MO.
In keeping with his passion for lifelong learning and honoring his commitment to provide excellence of care to his patients, Dr. King has accumulated over 1,800 hours of continuing education. It has earned him an award of Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) 2001 and a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD) 2007. This recognition has been obtained by less than 2% of general dentist! His service to dentistry and community has also resulted in selection to membership in two invitation only organizations: Fellowship in the American College of Dentist (FACD) and Fellowship in the International College of Dentist (FICD).
Community missions have always been a part of his practice. They include past and present non-profit associations with Smiles and Blessings, Remote Area Medical, Helping Hands of West TN, A Mother’s Love, and Donated Dental Services.
Michelle completed her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1992. While attending the University of Tennessee at Memphis, she met Dr. King. They married in 1993, following his graduation from dental school. Michelle has worked with Dr. King since he began his practice in 1994. She wears many hats around the office and does a wonderful job making sure the office runs smoothly. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, and traveling.
Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1989. She began working with Dr. King in 2001. When not helping to create beautiful smiles, Stephanie enjoys beach trips, reading, and spending time with her family.
Kathleen completed her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at the University of Tennessee at Memphis in 1990. She joined our team in 2020, however she has been working as a dental hygienist for over 30 years. In her free time, Kathleen enjoys spending time with her dog, Daisy, as well as traveling. Her favorite travel destinations include the mountains and the beach.
After graduating from her Dental Assisting Program, Kristen joined our team in 2019. She has become a valuable asset in helping Dr. King create 'Smiles for a Lifetime'. Her quiet demeanor provides a relaxing atmosphere for our sometimes anxious patients. In her free time, Kristen enjoys going hiking with her daughter.
Lynette received her Dental Assisting Certification in 2006. After moving to Tennessee, she became a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) in 2012. Lynette has been a part of our team since 2010. In addition to assisting with dental procedures, Lynette is one of the smiling faces you may meet at our front desk. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their two boys, Jones and Landon. As a family, they enjoy traveling and playing games.
Misty is one of the first to greet our patients and assist with their questions or concerns when they arrive to our office. In addition, she has received her Dental Assisting Certification. Misty brought her talents to our team in 2017. In her free time, Misty enjoys running and staying active, and also watching her three daughters play softball.
Ally began her work with our office in March of 2021, after completing her training at Dental Staff School of Tennessee in Franklin. Her gentle chairside manner has been a great addition to our team. Ally enjoys being outdoors and spending time with friends and family.
