3-D Digital Imaging
Our PreXion 3D imaging system provides clearer image quality and lowers radiation with scanning completed in just a few seconds. Trios S-Shape
Do you dislike goopy, messy impressions? So, does Dr. Mitchmore! With our Trios S-Shape, it is now possible to take accurate and clean digital impressions. This scanner uses a hand-held wand to grab an intricate 3D image of your bite. In fact, you can be part of the process and ask us any questions as you see the image of your tooth building on the screen.
Trios digital impressions are particularly useful for more complex cosmetic or restorative cases. The technology allows us to fabricate restorations that fit more precisely and last longer. You can have a beautiful, functional smile in no time!
Ultrasonic technology
The Cavitron Ultrasonic Cleaner is a state-of-the-art instrument for removing tartar from both above and below the gum line. Instead of cleaning your teeth with bulky and sharp metal hand tools, the Cavitron has a blunt tip and uses oscillating sound waves to gently vibrate the tartar away from your teeth.
The Cavitron unit is so gentle that it can even be used to administer deep cleaning and gum therapy, many times without the need for anesthetic. This instrument vibrates at the speed of sound, so you will hardly feel the procedure at all.
For more complex treatments, we use a USI, which is a more sophisticated machine that blasts away tartar.
Digital Photography
When you are undergoing treatment, we know how important it is to see where you have been and visualize where you are going. With digital photography, we can show you what your new smile will look like before treatment even begins.
We only use high-end, digital SLR photography equipment. Before, during, and after photos, are shot in the highest digital quality available for photographs today and allow us to see accurately with no distortion. We think it is one of our best diagnostic and educational tools.
Tek-Scan
Modern technology now allows Dr. Mitchmore to identify premature contacts and high forces when you bite. Many people suffer from a misaligned bite, which can lead to more serious issues such as TMJ disorders. As you bite down onto a Tek-Scan Digital Occlusal Analysis sensor, you will have your bite analyzed. The digital sensor will send data to our chairside monitor and highlight any potential problems such as destructive forces that could damage your dental restorations.
This innovative piece of dental technology can help you to see your bite issues and discuss with Dr. Mitchmore the best course of action. By being proactive our dentist can save you time, money, and prevent future dental problems.
Digital X-Rays
For your greater comfort and better diagnosis, we use digital x-rays. These modern radiographs appear almost immediately on our chairside monitors, which allows us to discuss our findings in real time. Due to eliminating the need for film and chemicals, these x-rays are better for the environment and decrease radiation exposure too.
Dr. Mitchmore is able to use these large, color-enhanced images for early diagnosis and a better representation of your oral health.
Intra-oral Cameras
As part of our commitment to co-diagnosis and patient involvement, Dr. Mitchmore uses intra-oral cameras. This state-of-the-art camera takes live video of the inside of your mouth and projects live images into our treatment room monitor. The magnified image allows you to see what we see and helps our Houston dentist accurately diagnose problems such as decay or cracked fillings.
The camera is only the size of a pen and thus is non-intrusive during your exam. Intra-oral cameras are proven to help with diagnosis and the early treatment of common dental problems.
K7 Myotronics
When assessing your bite for issues such as TMJ, our doctor uses an evaluation system called Myotronics K7. When you bite down on this piece of equipment, the system tracks the position of your jaw and the surrounding muscles. It then identifies the ideal position for a fully functional bite and thus operates as a guide for us to move your jaw into the most comfortable position.
The digital technology stores the data so Dr. Mitchmore can evaluate your bite and discuss the best option for you.
TENS
A transcutaneous electrical neural stimulation (TENS) device can treat disharmony between the movement of your jaw and jaw muscles. The system massages your muscles into relaxation by removing lactic acid, increasing blood flow, and allowing more oxygen to stimulate the muscles.
TENS is very clever as it can deprogram your jaw muscle memory and thus correct a bad bite.
Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry
One of the greatest improvements in dental comfort and precision has come with laser dentistry. This modern technology allows us to care for your teeth and gums in a faster, more effective, and painless manner. Vizilite
Oral cancer kills as many Americans as melanoma (the most serious type of skin cancer), with everyone at risk: 25 percent of oral cancer patients do not use tobacco or abuse alcohol.
Did you know your dentist in Houston, can help diagnose oral cancer? With ViziLite, it’s very easy for Dr. Mitchmore to spot abnormal or precancerous cells. The process involves you rinsing your mouth with a special screening solution. The VizLite is then shined into your mouth. If you do have any abnormal cells, the ViziLite change color and we can continue with an Oral CDX brush biopsy. The Oral CDX painlessly takes a small sample of cells, which can be tested for precancerous cells.
