Preventative Dental Care

Rotary Endodontics
We use rotary endodontics when performing root canals. Rotary endodontics involves using a device that can clean and shape root canals faster than hand tools. The device is electric and there is no drill noise. We have your comfort in mind. Rotary endodontics may help you have a more relaxing dental visit.
Antibiotic Therapy
Dr. Marciano and Dr, Schwalb may prescribe antibiotic therapy to complement your root scaling or planning procedure. Antibiotic therapy is used to prevent infections and help your gums heal. Antibiotic therapy can help reduce pocket depth in individuals with gum disease.
Air-Driven Fiberoptic Handpiece
Dr Marciano and Dr. Schwalb use air-driven fiberoptic handpieces during dental procedures. Air-driven fiberoptic handpieces are drills which are quieter and more comfortable than traditional drills, allowing for greater precision.

Low-Dose X-rays/Digital X-rays
X-rays are necessary to allow your dentist to see the condition of your teeth below the gum-line. Digital X-rays are beneficial to you and our doctors. With up to 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays, digital radiography uses a small sensor placed in the mouth to take and relay X-rays directly to a computer. This process is also better for the environment. It doesn’t use photo chemicals and traditional film, thus eliminating waste. We still take safety precautions and cover your body with a lead apron to minimize radiation exposure to your body. Let us know if you are pregnant or suspect that you may be pregnant prior to receiving X-rays.
