Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Where is Bellaire Diagnostic Imaging?

Our address is:

9440 Bellaire Blvd #100, Houston, TX 77036.

We are located between Corporate Dr and Ranchester Dr in the Bellaire Medical Plaza.

Will Bellaire Diagnostic Imaging accept my insurance?

We accept most insurance plans, including those under Medicare and Medicaid. Click Insurance Plans for a list of plans we are in-network with. If your insurance is not listed, please give us a call at (832) 239-8538.

I currently do not have medical insurance. Can I get a cash price quote on a procedure?

Yes, please call us at (832) 239-8538 for a quote.

My order form is from another imaging facility. Can I come to Bellaire Diagnostic Imaging?

Yes. Your doctor's order is a prescription and, like a medicine prescription, can usually be filled anywhere.

There are exceptions:

  • Some insurance companies only allow contain certain facilities in their contracts.
  • Your doctor may have a specific reason for you to have your exam done at a particular facility.

Is a referral needed at Bellaire Diagnostic Imaging?

Yes. We require a referral from a licensed healthcare provider, such as a medical doctor (MD), physician's assistant (PA), or nurse practitioner (NP). This helps us best determine which procedure is needed as well as provide you the proper guidance after the exam.

Does Bellaire Diagnostic Imaging accept children as patients?

Yes. Our technologists use low-dose radiology techniques and are trained to image children safely. Additionally, our state-of-the-art equipment reduces the exam time and further minimizes radiation exposure. We aim to create a stress-free experience for you and your child. However, since we are a general facility, some circumstances may arise where we are not capable of accomodating for younger children. Please call us at (832) 239-8538 if you have further concerns.

How long will I be at the clinic?

It depends on the exam. Some exams can be as short as 45 seconds.

Unless otherwise directed, existing patients should arrive at least 15 minutes early, and new patients should arrive at least 20 minutes early. Please arrive on time so that your visit goes smoothly.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

  • A current form of identification
  • A current insurance card
  • A list of current medications
  • An insurance referral form (if needed)

Please notify us as soon as possible if you are unable to keep your appointment.

What does “non-invasive” mean?

The body is not invaded or cut open. With diagnostic imaging, many medical conditions can be identified quickly and painlessly, often eliminating the need for expensive and risky exploratory surgery.

Will I need someone to drive me home after the exam?

Usually not. Our exams will not affect your ability to drive.

If you require sedation for the exam, please talk to your referring physician prior to your appointment. We do not provide sedation. Be sure to inform our staff of your needs when scheduling the exam. You must complete all paperwork and have a driver present prior to sedation or the exam cannot be completed.

When will my doctor get the results?

Typically 1-2 business days, but we suggest to expect a turnaround time of 2-3 business days. If quicker results are needed, your doctor will send us a STAT (urgent) order, and we will try our best to provide your results more quickly.

How can I access my results?

Upon request we can make a free CD containing the images of your exam. We can also create a useful and easy to set up online portal to view all your images and reports online. All you need to get started is an e-mail address. Please contact our office to request either a CD or online access.

If I have an emergency, what should I do?

In an emergency, you should call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for immediate care.
