Physician Bio

Gerald Silverboard, M.D.


Senior partner and founder of the practice, Gerald Silverboard graduated with Honors from Grady High School and attended Tulane University, New Orleans, LA where he received his BA as a premed student. He then attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where he was awarded his Doctor of Medicine degree. Dr. Silverboard then completed a mixed Medicine-Pediatric internship at Emory University affiliated hospitals and trained for three years specializing in Pediatrics. He was Chief Resident at Egleston Children’s Hospital under the direction of Joseph H. Patterson, M.D.

Dr. Silverboard then served as a Major in the U.S. Army Medical Corps where he was Chief of Pediatrics at Martin Army Hospital, Ft. Benning, GA. Having completed his military service, Dr. Silverboard returned to Emory University, completing an additional 3 year Residency in Neurology. Dr. Silverboard completed a Neurology/Child Neurology fellowship under the tutelage of Herb Karp, M.D. and James H. Schwartz, M.D.

Dr. Silverboard is double boarded both by the American Academy of Pediatrics and by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with special competence in Child Neurology. Dr. Silverboard practiced Adult Neurology and Child Neurology in Mobile, AL from 1979 until 2003 including a teaching appointment as Associate Clinical Professor of Child Neurology at the University of South Alabama School of Medicine.

In 2003 Dr. Silverboard returned to Atlanta and is practicing Neurology, both adult and child specialties. He enjoys the intellectual and scientific challenge of caring for Neurological disorders across the spectrum of life. Dr. Silverboard is a caring and committed physician who strives to stay abreast of current neurological advances while providing personal care to his patients.
