Paul J. Liswood, DPM, FACFAS
Board Certified in Foot Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery
Dr. Liswood is a third generation podiatrist practicing in Brooklyn, NY. He currently serves as Immediate Past President of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association and on the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Podiatric Medicine, which is the educational and research arm of the association. As part of his activities with the association, Dr. Liswood has given policy level presentations to health plan medical directors, legislators, governmental agencies, the New York State Department of Health and advocacy groups discussing the critical role of podiatric medicine for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes. He also has been a guest speaker at the American diabetes association expo and provider symposiums discussing podiatry care.
Dr. Liswood is a published author of several research studies on diabetic foot care. He is board certified in foot surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is the recipient of the 2016 American Podiatric Medical Association Meritorious Service Award given in recognition of outstanding accomplishments in scientific, professional and civic endeavors that have had a profound impact on podiatric medicine. He also recieved the 2019 American Podiatric Medical Association's Presidents Award in recognition of his significant contrubution to the advancement of Podiatric Medicine. He was also recognized by Pitch for a Cure in 2014, an organization committed to finding a cure for type 1 diabetes.
Dr. Liswood’s practice interests include foot surgery, sports issues, heel pain, and skin and nail conditions of the foot, diabetic foot care, children’s foot problems and podiatric medicine.
