Daphne Hosinski M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Daphne Todd Hosinski was born and raised in Lexington and obtained her nursing degree from Xavier University in 1999. She then attended University of Kentucky College of Medicine and graduated in 2003. From 2003 through 2006, Dr. Hosinski did her residency at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She has 4 children and lots of family in Lexington. Dr. Hosinski is glad to be working in her home town.

What are your hobbies?

Spending time with my family and reading.

Advice for expecting parents:

Don’t over-prepare, take time to relax and enjoy the experience.

Advice for new parents:

Remember to work together as a team, enjoy your baby, have confidence in your abilities, and rely on one another.

Advice for parents of teenager:

Don’t try to be their friends, they have enough of those. They need the guidance of parents to help them transition and be successful in adulthood and eventually parents themselves.

Most important thing you’ve learned by being a parent yourself:

Most important thing you’ve learned by being a parent yourself: I have learned to not to second-guess the decisions I make.  I trust my maternal intuition.  I ask God for guidance daily. I try to always realize that even if I make a parenting mistake, I am only human.  I try to stay calm, be patient, smile often, and laugh at their silly little ways!
