Pediatric Dentistry is very important to us at Eberhardt Dentistry. We want to be your entire family’s primary dental provider for life. We teach your kids how to take care of their dental health from the start and focus on giving them positive experiences! We will monitor the growth and development of your child’s teeth.

Preventive Sealants

One of the most common places decay develops is on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. The grooves and depressions on your back teeth are areas that are too small and narrow for toothbrush bristles to remove the plaque bacteria and tiny particles of food. The likelihood of developing tooth decay on the chewing surfaces begins early in life, so children and teenagers are obvious candidates for sealants. Sealants are routinely placed soon after the six and twelve-year molars erupt. Adults can benefit from sealants too, because one never outgrows cavities.

A dental sealant is a plastic material that is applied to the chewing surface of a back tooth, which acts as a barrier to protect enamel from plaque and acid. Dental sealants have been used safely and effectively for decades. The procedure is simple and fast, and there is no discomfort or injection!

Fluoride

In children, the use of semiannual fluoride treatments can be very effective for the prevention and control of tooth decay or cavities. Fluoride is safe and effective, learn more by reading the guidelines on fluoride therapy. At Eberhardt Dentistry a fluoride treatment may be recommend for your child as a precautionary measure.
