We strive to get to the root cause and help answer "why does my back hurt?"
Stress, accidents, arthritis, poor posture, sports injuries, and even overexertion can cause your spine to fall out of alignment or cause aberrant motion in the vertebral segments. When this happens, it disrupts the function of your nervous system, which can lead to back and neck pain, headaches, and other health issues. Many types of spinal pain can be traced back to problems with the spinal cord and nervous system.
Chiropractic adjustments focuses on vertebral joint segments of the spine that have lost normal motion and function. Chiropractic adjustments restore the integrity of the nervous system, allowing your body to heal and express its full potential. A balanced, functional spine and nervous system are key to maintaining overall health and vitality.
When your body’s interconnected systems—musculoskeletal, nervous, and others—are in balance and functioning properly, your body has a remarkable ability to heal itself. This state of balance is known as homeostasis. The body's functions are deeply interrelated, and its capacity to heal depends on how well these systems work together.
The two fundamental principles of holistic health are:
- The structure and condition of the body influence how it functions and heals.
- The brain-body relationship is essential for maintaining health and facilitating healing.

History of Chiropractic
The word "chiropractic" is derived from the Greek words "chiro", meaning "hand," and "practic", meaning "practice" or "treatment." Thus, chiropractic translates to "treatment by hand." While there are numerous techniques and approaches, chiropractors primarily use their hands to adjust various parts of the body, promoting healing and overall wellness.
A chiropractor, or Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.), diagnoses and treats a wide range of physical conditions, particularly those related to the muscles, nerves, and skeleton, with a special focus on the spine. Chiropractors perform approximately 95% of all spinal manipulations worldwide. The goal of chiropractic adjustments is to restore the spine to its natural position and improve its range of motion.
