Newborn Information

Congratulations! Having a baby is an exciting and joyous event. It can also be a very hectic and tiring time. If you're a first-time parent or adding a new member to your family, you may have questions about your newborn.

We would like to make things simple and easy for you and your family by providing the following useful information.

What To Bring to Your First Appointment

Please remember to bring with you:

  • Hospital newborn discharge papers
  • Your insurance card or proof of newborn enrollment
  • Photo ID

Insurance

Making sure your baby is covered under a health plan is very important. After the birth of your newborn, some insurance companies will cover your baby for the first 30 days of life. Please keep in mind that not all policies will cover your newborn unless you add the baby to your insurance plan.

When you have a child, it is considered a "qualifying life event". This means that you can add your child to your insurance plan without having to wait until open enrollment. Most insurance companies have a limited time in which this can be done, which in most cases it is 30 days. Please make sure to contact your insurance company for more information.

For the first 30 days Gold Pediatrics LLC will accept your eligible insurance, while waiting for your child to be added to an insurance plan. You will be financially responsible for any fees not covered by your insurance plan during this period.

If you would like more detailed information, please visit our Billing and Insurance Information or you may contact our financial specialist at (301) 517-9712.
