Child and Family Psychology is a company based in Long Island, New York, comprised of psychologists who specialize in working with children. We are a caring and dedicated staff whose mission is to help children in need of psychological assistance. We are passionate about our work with children and are willing to go the extra mile for a child and their family. It is for this reason that our work sometimes takes us on the road, to playgrounds, schools, homes and CSE meetings. That is how we initially earned the name "Psychologist on Wheels," as we go to the places that kids need us the most!
Who We Are
Dr. Renee Clauselle is a practicing psychologist and founder of Child and Family Psychology, formerly called Psychologist on Wheels PC. She has enjoyed over 15 years as a successful practicing psychologist, expert court witness, media expert, and professor. She was formerly the Director of School Mental Health Services at St. John's University and has served as an adjunct faculty member at both St. John's University and Teacher's College, Columbia University. She also served as the primary media psychologist on Good Morning America, ABC News, and other national network television (to see Dr. Clauselle news clips click here). Dr. Clauselle frequently has speaking engagements throughout New York City and Long Island and serves as a Distinguished Faculty Member for Lorman Educational Services, where she has spoken on Autism Spectrum Disorders, Discipline, and Special Education. The children she works with conveniently call her "Dr. Renee." Child and Family Psychology is a group with caring qualified psychologists under the leadership, and business structure, created by founder Dr. Renee Clauselle. Our clinical directors provide clinical leadership and oversight for the practice.
Dr. Francyne Zeltser is the Associate Clinical Director at Child and Family Psychology. She is a licensed psychologist, certified school psychologist, adjunct professor and mother of two. Her primary specializations are in child and adolescent development, behavior management, cognitive behavioral therapy, family counseling, educational interventions, psychological/educational assessment, effective parenting strategies, consultation, and educational advocacy. Dr. Zeltser promotes a supportive, problem-solving approach where her patients learn adaptive strategies to manage challenges and work toward achieving both short-and-long term goals. Her work has been featured in CNBC.com, womansday.com, nymetroParents.com and parents.com.
Our Business
Psychologist on Wheels PC was founded by Dr. Renee Clauselle. The New York company began as a small private practice conducting home visits through early intervention and several local school districts in Long Island and Queens, working with educational attorneys on special education issues, and conducting psychotherapy.
The Long Island company quickly grew, as parents began requesting "Dr. Renee" to work with their children. As the company grew, we changed our name to Child and Family Psychology and settled in to our main office in Franklin Square, New York.
We believe that the success of the company and our doctors and child psychologists is due to three tenets on which Dr. Renee Clauselle has built her private practice:
