Intraoral Digital Photographs

Intraoral photography provides a record of where the teeth are prior to treatment and help in the evaluation and formation of a treatment plan. They also provide a quick reference to refer to for assessing treatment progress. It also allows the patient to view their own malocclusion and these digital photos can be sent to the general dentist for their reference.

Digital X-Rays

There are two types of digital x-rays utilized for orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.

A panorex is a full jaw view of all your teeth. The digital imaging software allows the orthodontist to see a number of different views of the teeth to gain a better understanding of the problem and help develop a course of treatment. Digital x-rays provide a great benefit to the patient. Not only are they an excellent diagnostic tool, but they decrease radiation to the patient by over 80%.

A cephalometric x-ray is a lateral view to evaluate how the upper and lower jaws relate to each other. It also gives an indication as to the favorable or unfavorable jaw growth that the patient has.

Cone beam technology is a 3D scan of your head and jaw. This procedure is referred out on an as needed basis.

Digital Models

From an impression of the upper and lower arches we utilize an in-office laser scanner to give you the digital models for review and treatment planning.
