Patient Forms, Map and Directions to Maxson Dental
What To Expect
Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. Also, take some time to review our staff page and familiarize yourself with our team and the doctor.
New Patient Experience
To become a regular patient in our practice, we recommend you have a chance to meet our team, explore our facility, and have any diagnostics obtained. In addition, we need to clearly understand your overall health and oral health. It takes about an hour to start the process and includes the following:
- Meet our front desk staff and review paperwork
- Meet dental assistant and obtain any appropriate x-rays
- Meet Dr. Maxson at the pre-exam interview
- Have a comprehensive examination
- Take intra-oral photographs/impressions if needed
- Schedule follow-up appointments
New Patient Experience Child
Children start as new patients in our office as early as 1 year old. We see kids of varying ages and are flexible with what we accomplish at the first visit. Here is what your family can expect for your child's first visit:
- Meet our front desk staff and review paperwork
- Meet the hygienist and go for a ride in the chair!
- Get "pictures" (x-rays) of teeth depending on child's age
- Have teeth cleaned (if appropriate)
- Learn proper brushing/flossing techniques
- Meet Dr. Maxson and "count teeth"!
- Place "vitamins" (fluoride) on teeth
- Review diet and home care with parents
- Pick out a prize!
If we do not accomplish all of these steps at the first appointment, that's O.K. We are establishing a dental home and that is the important first step.
