New Patients

We are always welcoming new patients!

Your first visit to Maurer Family Dental establishes a vital foundation for our relationship with you. During the first visit, we make sure to obtain important background information, like your medical history, and give you time to get to know your doctor. Please be sure to bring a current list of medications that you take on a daily basis as well as a copy of your dental insurance card.

Most likely your first visit with us will include an exam, a cleaning, and X-rays, unless you have other urgent treatment needs. The information that we gather at this first visit will allow us to make a plan to address any needs that you may have and begin to sequence your treatment.

Being well-prepared for your appointment will ensure that the doctor has all of the needed information to provide the best possible care for you. It also will help relieve any unnecessary anxiety you may be feeling. Educate yourself on your symptoms by reviewing the content on this Web site. Also, take some time to review our Meet the Team pages and familiarize yourself with the team. We look forward to your first visit.

office tour

This office was custom-designed by Dr. Christopher Maurer. We have some pictures of our office technology included in the "Office" section of this website, but we have so much more that we love to show people!

Originally a two-bedroom house, it was transformed by Dr. Maurer into a fully-functioning three-operatory dental office with front desk, laboratory, and a private office. The office is also decorated throughout with several pieces of artwork by local artist George Colin.

Our front desk and waiting area is cool, calm, and inviting. Donna, our assistant, will help you with your check-in and check-out processes.

Our on-site laboratory is the hub of our infection control process. In the lab we also make dental models of your mouth and fabricate custom whitening trays.

Two of our operatory chairs overlook the scenery through three large picture windows. The office is situated on a lot that is slightly over one acre. In 2012, we started our prairie garden with plants purchased at the Lincoln Memorial Gardens Prairie Wildflower Sale. In March 2020, we expanded the prairie garden and incorporated beehives. The prairie garden and bee yard can be viewed out our picture windows. The prairie garden is planted with New England Aster, Butterfly Weed, Sand Coreopsis, Common Milkweed, and Goldenrod and attracts both birds and butterflies. Our newly planted bee yard was seeded with a wildflower bumble bee mix.
