Dentures

Dentures are also known as false teeth.  They are removable replacement for missing teeth.  Two types of dentures are available at Avenue Dental –Complete and Partial Dentures.  Dentures are molded to fit with an acrylic resin, which has outstanding durability properties and are strong enough to be used for building construction.

Complete Dentures are used when all the teeth are missing.  They replace the upper or lower jaws of the mouth while providing support for the cheeks and lips.  They can be put as soon as the teeth are removed or after the gum tissues have healed in about 8 to 12 weeks.

Partial Dentures are used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper or lower jaw.  They are attached to a gum colored base and connected by a metal framework to hold the denture in place in the mouth.  Partial dentures fill in the void created by missing teeth.  They also prevent other teeth from shifting position.  A precision partial denture is removable and has internal attachments, making it more natural-looking.
