TMJ

Chronic pain is not normal. If you suffer from:

  • Headaches or Migraines
  • Sore Jaw
  • Painful Chewing
  • Clicking or Popping in your Jaw
  • Sore Neck and Shoulder Muscles
  • Facial Pain

or other constant pain, the problem may be the alignment of your jaw.

When your jaw is in proper alignment - the top jaw is aligned with your bottom jaw - it is in an optimal position. The muscles are calm and relaxed, and your jaw functions comfortably.

When your jaw is out of alignment,(called malocclusion), it causes TMJ disorder (temporo mandibular joint disorder).

A number of factors can affect the alignment of your jaw, from losing a tooth to having your teeth wear down unevenly from clenching or grinding your teeth. Changes like these can cause shifts in your bite, resulting in a variety of painful symptoms, including TMJ.

TMJ is a painful condition that causes clicking or popping of the jaw, limited jaw function; pain in the neck, shoulders and back; pain and pressure in the ears and face and other symptoms.

To alleviate the pain, your bite needs to be realigned. Dr. Jeff Harris can return your jaw in its optimal alignment with spint therapy and night guards.

When the splint is placed over the upper teeth, it repositions the muscles, joint and teeth so they all work together in harmony, without any pain or strain.

Night guards protect teeth from grinding and clenching, helping to alleviate strain and wear.
