Inlays and onlays are restorations that are sometimes referred to as partial crowns. With this technique, the tooth is prepared, the restoration is fabricated in a lab and cemented in the prepared cavity in the tooth. An inlay or an onlay will strengthen the tooth, restore its shape, and prevent further damage.
